About this role
- Drive business development initiatives in the ports and maritime sector.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and potential projects.
- Analyze business opportunities and prepare project notes for departmental and management approval, including SWOT analysis.
- Prepare pre-bid queries, attend pre-bid meetings, and negotiate with clients to propose necessary changes to tender requirements.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders and maintain strong professional relationships on behalf of the firm.
- Prepare comprehensive technical and financial proposals in accordance with client requirements.
- Prepare complete tender and bid documents in compliance with applicable requirements.
- Develop and deliver proposal presentations to clients.
- Review, interpret, and prepare bidding documents in accordance with tender specifications and contractual stipulations.
- Prepare project budgets and cost estimates.
- Support the department in operational review presentations, budget preparation, and project progress monitoring.
- Monitor project invoicing, maintain invoice registers, and ensure proper documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, peers, and internal and external stakeholders by sharing information, knowledge, innovative ideas, and growth opportunities.
- Should have experience in preparing proposals for consultancy assignments.
- Should have experience in preparing bidding documents.
- Should be conversant with bidding documents for State and Central Government projects, as well as donor-funded projects.
- Should be conversant with online tendering processes.
- Should have experience in preparing proposals for private clients.
- Should have good knowledge of market intelligence gathering and analysis.
- Should have prepared a minimum of 10 technical and financial proposals.
- Should possess good communication skills.
- Should possess good presentation skills.
- Should have experience in handling tenders and projects funded by international or domestic donors.
