Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Business Development Manager based in Chennai. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and managing relationships with agents, brokers, and corporate partners, and driving health insurance sales within the assigned territory. The role involves planning and executing business development strategies, conducting market analysis, and tracking performance against sales targets. The Business Development Manager will collaborate with internal teams to support channel partners, ensure smooth onboarding, and maintain high service standards. The role also includes regular field visits, training and motivating partner teams, and preparing reports and presentations for leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in business development, sales, and relationship management, with the ability to acquire and grow distribution channels.
• Capability in market analysis, forecasting, and territory planning to achieve and exceed business targets.
• Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for engaging with partners and internal stakeholders.
• Experience in insurance or financial services, preferably health insurance, with knowledge of retail and corporate distribution models.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment and manage multiple priorities independently.
• Comfort with using CRM tools, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and basic data reporting dashboards.
• Willingness to travel within Chennai and nearby regions for partner meetings, field visits, and market development activities.
