Business Development Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible for the origination of ESG Rating Business for the mid/large corporate group in the given region.
• Responsible for maintaining and enhancing strong relationships with existing clients and acquiring new clients.
• Effectively maintaining relationships with clients and handling client requirements/challenges for customized ESG Rating assignments.
• Identify potential/unrated clients and facilitate them in understanding and adopting ESG Rating solutions, helping them leverage ESG ratings for stakeholder engagement, investor visibility and business opportunities.
• Increase operational efficiency through effective Sales MIS management and CRM updation.
• Ensure completion of commitments within the stipulated timeframe and effectively handle situations such as unavailability of information/data from clients and other stakeholders.
• Achieve business targets based on the number of ESG Rating mandates and cases executed.
• Maintain quality of clients acquired and ensure timely completion of commitments; undertake competitive intelligence, efficient reporting, monitor business growth across various states and track case completion with the ESG Rating team on a regular basis.
• Meet quarterly and annual sales revenue targets
• Develop business plans including revenue targets, product mix and margin objectives.
• Conduct and arrange knowledge-sharing sessions/events with corporate clients, banks, financial institutions, merchant bankers and other relevant stakeholders to create awareness about ESG Ratings and related solutions.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the clients industry, including industry trends, business processes, ESG practices, financial performance indicators, sustainability priorities and key competitors.
• Display dedication towards meeting customer expectations and achieving a high level of customer satisfaction.

Preferred candidate profile

• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Excellent telephone and net etiquette; proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Effective in preparing MIS, presentations, reports/summaries, etc.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Good experience in the sales/business development domain.
• Experience in client onboarding, relationship management and new client acquisition.
• Good understanding of ESG, sustainability and ESG-related market trends.
• Exhibits thorough product knowledge and market knowledge.
• Strong conceptual clarity and understanding of ESG Ratings, ESG assessment methodologies and the overall ESG rating process.
