    Function: Business Development

    Role Type: Individual Contributor

Reporting To: Business Development Head / Senior Management

    Location: [Specify Location]

    Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and target-driven Business Development Manager – Diagnostics to drive new business acquisition, expand the company's diagnostic services network, and build strategic B2B relationships.

The role will focus primarily on new client acquisition, lead generation, business development, commercial negotiations, and revenue generation. The candidate will be responsible for independently identifying prospective clients, developing business opportunities, converting leads into commercial accounts, and achieving assigned revenue targets.

This is an individual contributor role, requiring hands-on involvement in prospecting, client meetings, negotiations, and business closures rather than managing a team.

    Key Responsibilities1. New Business Development
    • Identify, prospect, and acquire new clients for diagnostic and healthcare services.
    • Develop new business opportunities across corporates, hospitals, clinics, healthcare institutions, insurance companies, and other relevant B2B segments.
    • Generate leads through market mapping, cold calling, direct outreach, networking, referrals, and field visits.
    • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and convert opportunities into active business accounts.
    • Identify new revenue channels and market expansion opportunities.
    2. Corporate & Institutional Partnerships
    • Establish and develop relationships with corporate HR teams, hospital administrators, procurement teams, insurance representatives, and other key decision-makers.
    • Pitch diagnostic services, preventive health check-ups, laboratory investigations, and customized healthcare solutions to prospective clients.
    • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and commercial discussions to develop long-term business relationships.
    • Negotiate pricing, service agreements, and commercial terms within approved company guidelines.
    • Develop recurring business opportunities through corporate tie-ups and institutional partnerships.
    3. Revenue Generation & Target Achievement
    • Achieve assigned monthly and quarterly targets for new client acquisition, revenue, and business conversion.
    • Take ownership of the complete sales cycle, from lead generation and prospect qualification to proposal submission, negotiation, and closure.
    • Track conversion rates, sales pipeline, revenue contribution, and account activation.
    • Work towards building a sustainable portfolio of recurring business and high-value accounts.
    4. Market Research & Business Planning
    • Conduct market research to identify prospective clients, competitors, pricing trends, and emerging opportunities.
    • Map potential customers and develop territory-specific business development plans.
    • Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable diagnostic service offerings.
    • Share market insights and business updates with senior management.
    5. Client Coordination & Business Activation
    • Coordinate with operations, laboratory teams, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding and activation of newly acquired accounts.
    • Follow up with clients to resolve initial service-related concerns and support business continuity.
    • Maintain accurate client records, sales updates, and opportunity pipelines in the CRM.
    • Monitor account performance and identify opportunities for repeat business and revenue expansion.
    Candidate Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
    • Approximately 4–8 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or institutional sales, preferably in diagnostics, healthcare, pathology laboratories, or related services.
    • Proven experience in new business acquisition and revenue generation.
    • Existing corporate, hospital, clinic, insurance, or institutional relationships would be an advantage.
    • Strong understanding of lead generation, client pitching, commercial negotiations, and sales conversion.
    • Ability to independently manage the complete sales cycle and work against revenue targets.
    • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
    • Willingness to travel for client meetings and business development activities, as required.
