About this role
Role Summary We are looking for a Product Implementation Specialist who brings a strong combination of business analysis and quality assurance skills to support the setup, validation, and financial testing of insurance products. This is a hybrid role that sits at the intersection of product understanding, structured analysis, and quality validation — making it ideal for someone who enjoys both defining how things should work and rigorously verifying that they do. You will collaborate closely with Product, IT, and QA teams in a fully remote environment, playing a key role in product configuration, requirements analysis, end-to-end testing, and release validation. The right candidate is someone who can think like a BA — translating business requirements into clear acceptance criteria — and act like a QA — ensuring every configuration, calculation, and document output is accurate before it reaches the end user.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret product specifications, business requirements, and implementation documents to define clear, testable acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and IT teams to understand product rules, validate configurations, and flag gaps or ambiguities early in the lifecycle
- Support product setup and configuration activities, ensuring all parameters — plans, coverages, pricing rules, state logic, and document associations — are correctly implemented
- Perform comprehensive financial testing: validate premium calculations, commission structures, distribution logic, and financial output alignment against expected values
- Execute end-to-end test scenarios across the full product lifecycle: from initial setup and pricing through policy issuance, distribution, and document fulfillment
- Validate system outputs — pricing breakdowns, policy documents, fulfillment letters — against product definitions and business expectations
- Identify defects, document findings with clear steps to reproduce, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and track resolution through closure
- Maintain detailed documentation: requirement notes, test cases, test results, defect logs, and release sign-off reports
- Support pre-deployment validation and post-deployment verification for each product release, ensuring nothing is missed before go-live
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams — converting product intent into structured test scenarios and implementation checks
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of combined experience in Business Analysis (BA) and/or Quality Assurance (QA) roles — candidates with strong experience in both are highly preferred.
- Ability to analyze requirements, write user stories or acceptance criteria, and bridge communication between business and technology teams.
- Experience in functional testing, regression testing, UAT, and end-to-end test execution across complex product workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to perform financial validation/data testing — matching system- generated outputs against expected pricing, premium, and commission data.
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail, particularly for data accuracy and financial correctness.
- Ability to read and interpret product/implementation documentation and translate it into structured test cases and validation checklists.
- Experience working with structured ticket management and test documentation practices via Jira and Confluence
- BFSI domain experience required; travel insurance or general insurance background strongly preferred.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with insurance processing platforms (policy administration, product configuration, or distribution systems) is a strong plus — specific platform knowledge is not required, but comfort working within such environments is highly valued.
- Exposure to configuration-based systems — where business rules are set up through structured parameters rather than traditional development — is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with financial reconciliation concepts: understanding how premiums, commissions, and allocations flow through a system and how to validate them end-to- end.
- Exposure to release and deployment cycles, including participation in pre/post-go-live validation and sign-off activities.
- Basic understanding of API behavior or system integration concepts is a plus, though not mandatory.
General Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to clearly articulate requirements, findings, and defects to both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Strong documentation skills: requirement specifications, test plans, test cases, defect reports, UAT sign-off documents, and process notes.
- Proficiency in Jira for defect tracking, test task management, sprint coordination, and release tracking.
- Working knowledge of Confluence for maintaining team documentation, requirement wikis, and knowledge base articles.
- Collaborative, structured, and highly organized — comfortable managing multiple workstreams independently in a remote environment.
- Proactive communicator who surfaces issues early and works constructively with stakeholders to resolve them.
