Business Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements for equity-focused platform initiatives across trading, client servicing, reporting, and operations.
• Translate business needs into user stories, functional specifications, process flows, data requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Analyse end-to-end equity trade lifecycles, including order capture, validation, execution, allocation, settlement, reporting, and portfolio views.careers.nomura+1
• Work with Product Owners, Engineering, QA, Operations, Compliance, and business stakeholders to refine requirements and prioritise the product backlog.
• Identify process gaps, manual interventions, control weaknesses, and opportunities for automation or platform improvement.
• Support solution design by evaluating business impact, feasibility, dependencies, risks, and implementation considerations.
• Coordinate UAT, support test-case preparation and defect triage, and ensure business readiness for releases.careers.nomura+1
• Prepare functional documentation, user guides, release notes, and stakeholder updates.
• Support analysis of equity products, client journeys, transaction data, business performance, and operational metrics.
• Contribute to post-implementation reviews, user feedback analysis, and continuous improvement of platform capabilities.

Technical Requirements

• Strong understanding of equity products, trading workflows, and front-to-back broking processes.
• Familiarity with order management, execution, market data, client onboarding, portfolio reporting, and settlement processes.
• Experience creating BRDs/FRDs, user stories, process maps, wireframes, data flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Working knowledge of Agile delivery, backlog management, sprint planning, and requirements traceability.
• Proficiency in SQL for basic data extraction, validation, and analysis; familiarity with Excel and reporting tools.
• Understanding of APIs, system integrations, data models, and application workflows.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar requirements and collaboration tools.
• Awareness of regulatory, risk, and control considerations within capital markets or broking environments.

Experience & Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or Functional Analyst in capital markets, investment management, broking, fintech, or financial technology.
• Relevant domain exposure to equity products, including cash equities, equity derivatives, or related trading workflows.
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience working with technology and business teams to deliver platform enhancements.
• Strong analytical, documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain business requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• CFA, NISM, or other relevant capital-markets certification will be an advantage
