About this role
Role & responsibilities
The Business Analyst in the CEO Office will be the analytical engine behind strategic projects for Havells' leadership. The role suits an early-career consultant (1 to 2 years at a top-tier firm) who is strong at data analysis, structured problem solving and synthesis, and wants to move from advising clients to shaping decisions inside one of India's leading electrical and consumer durables companies.
Working with the CEO Office team and senior leadership, the analyst will build fact bases, model scenarios, frame problems and turn complex analysis into crisp recommendations across Havells' businesses (cables and wires, switchgear, lighting, fans, appliances and Lloyd consumer durables).
Key responsibilities
1. Data analysis and fact-base building
- Build and maintain analytical models in Excel to size markets, track business performance and test hypotheses.
- Clean, structure and analyse large internal datasets (sales, channel, pricing, cost, dealer and electrician data) to surface insights.
- Monitor key business KPIs and build leadership dashboards that flag trends, gaps and exceptions early.
- Benchmark Havells against domestic and global peers on growth, margins, channel and operating metrics.
2. Conceptual problem solving
- Break down ambiguous leadership questions into structured issue trees and hypotheses, then design the analysis to answer them.
- Support operational improvement projects by mapping processes, quantifying inefficiencies and estimating impact of fixes.
- Contribute to cost optimisation, pricing, portfolio and channel strategy work across business units.
3. Synthesis and communication
- Convert analysis into clear storylines and consulting-grade presentations for the CEO and business heads.
- Draft concise memos, board and review notes, and one-page summaries with a clear "so what".
- Prepare business cases for new products, investments and initiatives for leadership approval.
4. Strategic initiatives, partnerships and GTM
- Conduct market, competitor and customer research to support partnership, collaboration and inorganic opportunity screening.
- Support go-to-market strategy and new product launches with segmentation, pricing analysis and post-launch performance tracking.
- Assist in preparing proposals, MoUs and evaluation frameworks alongside senior team members.
5. Project and stakeholder support
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, product, finance, supply chain) to gather data and drive workstreams to closure.
- Track project milestones, action items and outcomes from leadership reviews.
- Support digital transformation and automation initiatives, including use of AI and analytics tools in decision making.
Preferred candidate profile
- B.Tech / BE from a reputed engineering institute, followed by an MBA (Not necessary)
- Strong academic record with evidence of quantitative aptitude.
Experience
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a management consulting firm. Experience gained after undergraduation (pre-MBA) and after post-graduation (post-MBA) are both relevant, and can be combined.
- Track record of delivering analysis-heavy workstreams on strategy, operations, commercial excellence, cost or due diligence engagements.
- Exposure to manufacturing, industrials, consumer durables, FMEG or B2B2C businesses is a plus.
