Job description

Job Purpose

To lead and manage the overall performance of the rural branch by driving business growth, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining compliance, managing team productivity, and enhancing customer relationships in the rural and semi-urban market.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Growth & Revenue Generation

• Drive CASA, Term Deposits, Gold Loans, Agri Loans, and Retail Asset business.
• Achieve branch business targets for deposits, advances, cross-sell, and third-party products (Insurance, MF).
• Increase branch profitability through customer acquisition and relationship deepening.
• Focus on rural lending products like KCC, Agri Loans, MSME loans, and Gold Loans.
• Identify local business opportunities and develop strategies to penetrate rural markets.

2. Branch Operations & Compliance

• Ensure smooth functioning of branch operations as per bank policies and RBI guidelines.
• Monitor cash management, vault operations, and branch security.
• Ensure adherence to KYC, AML, audit, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain high service quality and customer satisfaction standards.
• Handle internal and external audits and close audit observations timely.

3. Team Leadership & Staff Management

• Lead, motivate, and manage branch team including Sales Officers, Operations Staff, and Relationship Officers.
• Set individual targets and monitor team performance regularly.
• Conduct daily branch meetings and performance reviews.
• Provide coaching, training, and development support to staff.

4. Customer Relationship Management

• Build strong relationships with key customers, farmers, local business owners, and village influencers.
• Resolve customer complaints and ensure quick service delivery.
• Improve customer retention and increase wallet share.

5. Risk & Control Management

• Ensure proper documentation and verification of all transactions.
• Monitor branch risk parameters and prevent frauds.
• Ensure compliance with operational risk and regulatory requirements.

6. Branch Administration

• Manage branch infrastructure, safety, and administration.
• Coordinate with regional office and support teams.
• Maintain branch discipline and operational efficiency.

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

• Graduate / Postgraduate (MBA preferred)

Experience:

• 5-10 years in Banking / Financial Services
• Minimum 2-3 years in Branch Management or Team Handling role
• Experience in rural banking preferred
