Key Responsibilities
Must Have Skills - Review the current Excel-based bookkeeping and financial-recording process.
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve financial accuracy.
- Recommend an appropriate accounting system, such as Xero or Zoho Books.
- Set up and configure the agreed accounting system.
- Create standard operating procedures for bookkeeping and financial recording.
- Implement suitable automation to reduce repetitive manual work.
- Maintain accurate records of invoices, expenses, receipts, and payments.
- Track and reconcile B2B transactions and retailer payments.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payment discrepancies.
- Maintain organised financial records and supporting documents.
- Support regular reconciliations and bookkeeping reports.
- Keep the client informed of outstanding items, discrepancies, and process improvements.
1. UAE VAT and Accounting Knowledge
- Practical experience with UAE VAT requirements.
- Understanding of VAT-compliant bookkeeping and transaction recording.
- Ability to maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Familiarity with UAE business accounting practices.
2. FMCG Industry Experience
- Previous experience in FMCG is a requirement.
- Experience with food businesses is highly desirable.
- E-commerce, retail, or retailer-facing business experience is relevant and beneficial.
- Candidates must understand business transactions involving retailers and B2B payments.
3. Accounting System Setup and Process Improvement
- Strong Excel-based bookkeeping experience.
- Hands-on experience with Xero or Zoho Books.
- Ability to assess the existing Excel process and recommend a suitable accounting system.
- Ability to configure and implement the selected system.
- Experience setting up automated workflows, transaction recording, reconciliations, and bookkeeping processes.
- Ability to establish a clear, repeatable financial-recording process.
4. B2B Payments and Retailer Reconciliation
- Experience tracking and reconciling B2B payments.
- Ability to understand retailer payment cycles, outstanding balances, and payment discrepancies.
- Experience managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoices, and payment records.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and provide clear financial updates.
- E-commerce and retail accounting experience
