Blood Bank Technician

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Collect blood samples from donors and patients, ensuring proper labeling and handling of specimens.
• Perform various tests on collected blood samples to screen for infectious diseases and ensure their suitability for transfusion.
• Maintain accurate records of all blood collections, testing results, and inventory management in the blood bank database.
• Assist medical professionals with procedures such as phlebotomy (blood draw) and cannulation (intravenous catheter insertion).

Job Requirements :

• 1-5 years of experience in a clinical setting or related field.
• DMLT certification or equivalent education/training program in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT).
• Strong knowledge of blood collection techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture methods.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
