Job Purpose

To design and develop BIW (Body in White) structural components using CATIA V5 and support automotive body structure development projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop BIW structural components using CATIA V5.
• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings as per design requirements.
• Work on automotive BIW/body structure, sheet metal and related components.
• Perform design modifications based on engineering requirements and customer inputs.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing, CAE, Tooling and Quality.
• Ensure designs meet required quality, feasibility, dimensional and manufacturing standards.
• Support design reviews, issue resolution and engineering change activities.
• Maintain design data and documentation in Teamcenter/PLM systems.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5.
• Experience in BIW Structure Design / Automotive Body Design.
• Knowledge of sheet metal design and automotive engineering.
• Good understanding of 3D modelling, assembly and 2D drafting.
• Experience with Teamcenter / PLM is preferred.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Educational Qualification

BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, Production or related engineering discipline.

Candidate Profile

• 3–8 years of relevant experience in BIW / Automotive Design.
• Candidates with experience in automotive OEMs or engineering service companies will be preferred.
• Should be comfortable working in a project-based engineering environment.
