Working Hours: Extended working hours may be required based on project requirements, site conditions and business priorities

ABOUT DELLA TOWNSHIPS

Della Townships is a luxury, experiential and integrated development platform creating distinctive destinations that combine architecture, hospitality, lifestyle, design, nature and immersive experiences.

We are looking for a Biophilic Architect who can translate the relationship between people, architecture and nature into extraordinary environments and experiences.

This is not a conventional architectural role. The ideal candidate should be able to think beyond buildings and create immersive, nature-integrated luxury spaces where architecture, landscape, water, light, materials, climate and human experience work together.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Biophilic Architect will be responsible for conceptualising and developing biophilic, sustainable and experiential architectural solutions across Della Townships and associated developments.

The role will integrate:

Architecture + Landscape + Nature + Light + Water + Materials + Climate + Wellness + Human Experience

The successful candidate will work closely with the CMD and internal/external design teams to create iconic, differentiated and commercially viable environments that reflect Della's luxury design philosophy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Biophilic Design Leadership

• Develop innovative architectural concepts inspired by nature and the surrounding environment.
• Integrate natural elements into architecture, interiors and outdoor spaces.
• Create strong indoor–outdoor connections.
• Incorporate daylight, natural ventilation, vegetation, water, natural materials, textures, patterns and organic forms.
• Develop design solutions that enhance occupant wellbeing, comfort and sensory experience.

2. Master Planning & Township Design

• Contribute to master planning through a strong understanding of site ecology, topography, climate and natural features.
• Identify opportunities to preserve and enhance existing natural assets.
• Integrate green corridors, courtyards, gardens, water bodies, shaded pathways and outdoor experiences.
• Develop design concepts that respond intelligently to the site's natural characteristics.

3. Luxury & Experiential Architecture

• Create distinctive architectural experiences aligned with Della's luxury positioning.
• Develop memorable arrival experiences, villas, residences, hospitality spaces, wellness areas, outdoor living environments and experiential destinations.
• Introduce innovative nature-inspired architectural elements and spatial experiences.
• Balance aesthetics, functionality, constructability and commercial viability.

4. Design Development

• Prepare and oversee concepts, sketches, plans, elevations, sections, 3D concepts and design presentations.
• Develop material, colour, texture and finish palettes.
• Work with design teams to ensure consistency between architectural and landscape intent.
• Review design development and ensure the original concept is maintained through execution.

5. Landscape & Architecture Integration

• Collaborate closely with landscape architects, horticulture specialists, interior designers and environmental consultants.
• Ensure landscape is treated as an integral part of the architecture rather than an afterthought.
• Integrate planting, water, shade, natural terrain and outdoor spaces into the architectural experience.

6. Sustainability & Climate Responsiveness

• Develop passive design strategies appropriate to the site's climate.
• Promote energy-efficient, resource-conscious and environmentally responsible design.
• Explore rainwater management, natural cooling, daylight optimisation, renewable materials and responsible material selection.
• Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact without compromising luxury or design quality.

7. Design Innovation & Research

• Continuously research global developments in biophilic architecture, sustainable design, luxury hospitality and experiential environments.
• Identify new technologies, materials, design approaches and nature-based solutions.
• Benchmark relevant international luxury developments and bring applicable ideas to Della.

8. Design Coordination & Execution

• Coordinate with architects, structural/MEP consultants, landscape teams, PMC, contractors and specialist vendors.
• Review drawings and design details.
• Participate in site inspections and design reviews.
• Identify deviations from approved design and recommend corrective measures.
• Ensure design intent is translated accurately into execution.

9. CMD Interface

• Work directly with the CMD on important design initiatives and strategic projects.
• Present concepts, alternatives, recommendations and design decisions clearly.
• Convert the CMD's vision into practical architectural concepts.
• Proactively identify opportunities rather than waiting for instructions.

DAY-TO-DAY EXPECTATIONS

The Biophilic Architect is expected to:

• Think creatively and challenge conventional architectural solutions.
• Visit sites and understand actual ground conditions.
• Develop and present new design concepts.
• Review ongoing architectural and landscape work.
• Coordinate with consultants and project teams.
• Resolve design challenges proactively.
• Review materials, finishes and mock-ups.
• Track design deliverables and approvals.
• Maintain design quality and consistency.
• Identify potential design, cost and execution risks.
• Provide regular updates to the CMD.
• Take ownership from concept through execution.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for an architect who combines strong architectural fundamentals with imagination, sensitivity to nature and an exceptional design eye.

Qualification

• B.Arch / M.Arch or equivalent recognised architectural qualification.
• Additional qualification in sustainable architecture, environmental design, landscape architecture or related discipline will be an advantage.

Experience

• 8–15+ years of relevant architectural/design experience preferred.
• Experience in luxury residential, hospitality, resorts, townships, premium real estate, wellness, experiential destinations or high-end developments preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in biophilic, sustainable or nature-integrated design.
• Candidates with strong international design exposure will be preferred.

This role requires an individual who can work independently, take ownership and convert ideas into execution.

The candidate should not be dependent on continuous supervision. He/she is expected to:
