Billing Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare and verify RA (Running Account) bills and final bills for civil, structural, finishing, and other construction works.
• Prepare client bills and subcontractor bills as per approved BOQ, work orders, and contractual terms.
• Conduct site measurements and verify quantities executed by contractors and subcontractors.
• Prepare measurement sheets, abstract sheets, and supporting documents for billing.
• Verify contractor bills against approved drawings, BOQ, site measurements, and work completion status.
• Monitor and reconcile executed quantities against BOQ quantities and approved variations.
• Prepare extra item statements, deviation statements, and variation claims.
• Maintain records of work orders, amendments, measurement books, and billing documentation.
• Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, planning, procurement, and accounts teams for bill certification and payment processing.
• Ensure timely submission, verification, certification, and processing of contractor bills.
• Track billing status, certified amounts, deductions, retention, advances, and outstanding payments.
• Assist in preparing project cost reports and billing MIS for management review.
• Verify contractual deductions, recoveries, taxes, and other applicable adjustments in contractor bills.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract conditions, and company billing procedures.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• 4-7 years of relevant experience in billing and quantity surveying for real estate construction projects.
• Hands-on experience in RA bills, final bills, subcontractor billing, and client billing.
• Strong knowledge of BOQ, quantity measurement, rate analysis, and quantity reconciliation.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and construction drawings.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of measurement books, variation orders, extra items, and contractor bill certification.
• Understanding of construction contracts, work orders, retention money, and payment terms.
• Strong numerical, analytical, documentation, and coordination skills.
