BD Associate Director

About the role

As a Domain Consultant – Communications, Media & Technology, you will make an impact by supporting the pre-sales team in crafting compelling, market insight-led proposals and bid responses across CMT sub-sectors such as OTT, AdTech and telco BSS. You will be a valued member of the Business Development team and work collaboratively with presales leads, solution architects, account teams, and clients.

In this role, you will

• Act as a trusted advisor to Sales and Solutioning teams, translating complex CMT industry trends (5G, OTT convergence, AdTech shifts) into actionable client-facing insights and opportunity maps aligned to Cognizant Moment solutions.
• Proactively identify, qualify and prioritise new business opportunities within CMT accounts by mapping industry trends, regulatory shifts and competitive dynamics to solution capabilities.
• Partner with account teams to uncover cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing engagements, expanding Cognizant’s footprint.
• Develop deep expertise in Cognizant Moment’s CX-CRM and Digital Engagement platform solutions and articulate how they address CMT priorities such as subscriber growth, churn reduction, digital monetization and personalised omnichannel experiences.
• Incubate emerging CMT offerings and proofs of concept, leading cross-functional sprints and building business cases to secure internal investment for practice growth.

Work model

What you must have to be considered

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably computer science or IT; MBA or relevant master’s preferred.
• 10–15+ years of experience in business development, pre-sales or consulting, with at least 5+ years focused on business growth in the Communications, Media and Technology industry related to enterprise-level Customer Data Platform solutions.
• Working knowledge of monolithic as well as microservices application architecture (RESTful API, API integration, etc.).
• Proven experience supporting RFx responses, client presentations and solution demonstrations.
• Strong executive presence with excellent communication, storytelling and presentation skills.

These will help you succeed

• Deep CMT industry fluency across 5G/telecom ecosystems, OTT and streaming, digital publishing, AdTech/MarTech, gaming and SaaS business models, with sub-sector depth in Telecom, Media & Entertainment or High-Tech.
• Ability to track and distil regulatory, technology and consumer-behaviour shifts into actionable business insights and opportunity maps for clients.
• Working knowledge of key CMT players, platform vendors, system integrators and emerging disruptors shaping the digital engagement space.
• Technology awareness of SaaS mobile and web applications on AWS, GCP and Azure for CX-CRM and Digital Engagement platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Mixpanel, Moengage, Webengage, Google Analytics, Adobe Experience Cloud or other Product Analytics tools).
• Working knowledge of global and regional CMT regulations such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, ePrivacy Directive, CAN-SPAM, TCPA and evolving AI governance frameworks.
