Job Description

Alpine Convent School is hiring for skilled and passionate Baker and Pastry Chef for its School Refectory. The candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality bakery products, cakes, pastries, and desserts while maintaining excellent standards of taste, presentation, hygiene, and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, bake, and finish breads, cakes, pastries, cookies, and desserts as per recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure consistency in taste, texture, quality, and presentation of all bakery products.
• Assist in menu planning, seasonal specials, and the development of new recipes.
• Monitor ingredient stock levels and report shortages to the Chef de Partie / Head Baker.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the bakery and food production areas.
• Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely and properly.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP guidelines.

Requirements

• A certified Bakery / Patisserie course from a reputed culinary institute will be preferred.
• Good knowledge of bread-making, cakes, pastries, cookies, and basic desserts.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Good communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
