Backend Tech Lead

Company Description MIRAI by Dailoqa is an 18‑month, industry-integrated pathway embedded within Bennett University’s B.Tech CSE program, designed to develop AI-native engineers. The initiative combines advanced technical training with practical exposure to financial systems that serve the India–Japan business corridor. Participants gain Japanese-language proficiency alongside domain knowledge in finance and technology, preparing them for cross-border, innovation-focused roles. MIRAI offers a collaborative environment where academic rigor meets real-world projects, supported by industry partnerships and mentorship.

Role Description The Backend Tech Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India, responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of backend services and APIs that power MIRAI’s technology platforms. This role involves architecting scalable systems, reviewing and maintaining high-quality code, ensuring robust security and performance, and integrating data sources relevant to AI and financial applications. The Backend Tech Lead will collaborate closely with frontend engineers, data scientists, product owners, and academic stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable backend solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include technical leadership for the backend team, mentoring engineers, managing sprints and code reviews, troubleshooting production issues, and driving best practices in documentation, testing, and deployment. The role also includes contributing to technical roadmaps, evaluating new tools and frameworks, and supporting the integration of industry projects within the MIRAI pathway.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in backend programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, or similar), with experience designing RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Hands-on experience with databases and data storage technologies (e.g., SQL/NoSQL databases, caching systems, and data modelling for scalable applications).
• Solid understanding of system architecture, microservices, cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of security best practices, performance optimization, and monitoring/logging tools for production environments.
• Experience leading engineering teams, conducting code reviews, mentoring developers, and managing agile development processes.
• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows or data-intensive systems, and interest in financial technology or cross-border financial systems.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders, including academic partners and industry collaborators.
• B.Tech or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
