About this role
Location: Hyderabad, India (on-site)
Experience: 3-8 years 2 openings under this single posting, hiring for two focused tracks (see below). Apply and tell us which track fits you best, or apply if you're strong across both.
We're hiring two backend engineers to help take a live, production platform from a monolith to a secure, zero-trust microservices architecture. One opening skews senior and owns the microservices/security side of that migration; the other owns the database and data-migration side.
Track A Senior Backend Engineer (Microservices & Zero-Trust Security) • ~5-8 years
What we're looking for:
- Hands-on experience designing microservices/APIs service boundaries, inter-service contracts, versioning
- Experience implementing zero-trust patterns: mTLS/OIDC, service-to-service auth, least-privilege IAM — service-mesh experience (Istio, Linkerd, Consul Connect, or equivalent) is a strong plus
- Strong containerization/orchestration skills (Docker, Kubernetes)
- CI/CD pipeline design and ownership
- API gateway and secrets-management experience (Vault/KMS-style tools)
- Experience carving services out of a live monolith incrementally (the strangler-fig pattern), not just greenfield builds
- Strong code-review instincts — codebase quality review is explicitly part of this role
Track B — Backend Engineer (Databases & Data Migration) • ~3-6 years
What we're looking for:
- Strong PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, query performance) and MongoDB (document modeling) — genuine hands-on experience with both, not just one
- Experience migrating a live system from a document store to a relational database, or equivalent CDC / dual-write / backfill migration experience
- Comfort designing data-validation and rollback plans — not just writing the migration script itself
- Experience with HA/clustered Postgres setups (e.g. Patroni or equivalent) is a strong plus
- Ability to write migration runbooks a team can execute and audit
Both tracks — what we value
Hands-on builders who enjoy turning ideas into working, production-grade systems
Comfortable working independently, on-site, in a fast-moving environment
Prior experience on a live production system migration — not just greenfield work
High-agency problem solvers who collaborate well across security, data, and platform engineering
