Job Summary We are looking for a Backend Developer with hands-on experience in Java or Golang to design, build, and own backend systems that power our core product. This is an individual contributor role for someone who can take a feature from requirement to production without close supervision, and who has real experience designing distributed systems at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services, APIs, and asynchronous systems from the ground up.
• Own distributed systems design - handling concurrency, failure modes, and scale.
• Take features from requirement to production with end-to-end ownership.
• Collaborate directly with Product and QA teams to ensure features work as intended.
• Monitor production systems, identify issues early, and resolve them quickly.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to system design discussions.
• Improve performance and reliability of existing backend services.

Required Skills And Qualifications

• 3-8 years of hands-on backend engineering experience in a product or startup environment.
• Proficiency in Java, Golang, or both, with production-quality coding experience.
• Proven experience designing and running distributed systems, not just theoretical knowledge.
• Strong fundamentals in REST API design and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of database design and query performance, relational and/or NoSQL.
• Demonstrated ability to own a module or feature end to end.
• Experience working in a startup or product company environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with both Java and Golang.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to message queues or event-driven architecture, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience working on testing, observability, or developer tooling products.
