About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team at Kake. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and scaling our platform that integrates cloud infrastructure, data intelligence, and artificial intelligence. You will work on developing high-performance backend systems, APIs, and data workflows that support our mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, cloud-native solutions, and experience working with AI integrations, particularly Large Language Models. Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and collaborative spirit. Key qualifications include:

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend software engineering, with proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.
• Extensive experience developing APIs and backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Strong understanding of database design, particularly with PostgreSQL, including schema optimization and query tuning.
• Proven ability to design and maintain scalable, distributed systems in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar.
• Knowledge of serverless architectures and cloud-native services like Functions and Jobs.
• Experience troubleshooting production systems and implementing observability best practices.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities The core responsibilities for this role encompass the following:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs utilizing TypeScript, Node.js, Express, Python, and FastAPI.
• Build and optimize backend systems, databases, and data processing workflows to meet evolving product and business requirements.
• Develop and maintain integrations with AI platforms and Large Language Models (LLMs), including OpenAI, Gemini, and Anthropic, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to define technical solutions, prioritize features, and deliver impactful results.
• Enhance application performance, reliability, and scalability across the platform as it continues to grow.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, while improving observability and monitoring capabilities to prevent future incidents.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, helping shape the technical direction of the platform to ensure robustness and future scalability.
• Build and maintain cloud-native solutions leveraging Google Cloud services, ensuring security, efficiency, and compliance.
