Backend Engineer

6+ years of experience in Data Engineering/Advanced Analytics.
Proficiency in Python and experience with Flask for backend development.
Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming.
AWS proficiency is a big plus: Containerization, Batch, Step Functions, Redis, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Cloudwatch, Lambda etc.
Experience with SQL and data warehousing.
Experience with data manipulation libraries and analytical frameworks such as Spark, Pandas, Polars, NumPy, Metaflow.
Experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar tools for continuous integration and deployment.
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus. Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using python as backend including complex algorithms.
Build and maintain backend services using Python, ensuring responsiveness and high performance.
Implement security measures and best practices to protect data and applications from vulnerabilities.
Strong understanding of data integration and data modeling concepts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements.
Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues proactively, ensuring optimal performance of backend services.
Take ownership of the modules you work on, deliver on time and with quality, ensuring software development best practices.
Implement unit tests and integration tests to ensure the reliability and stability of the backend services.
Maintain documentation for code, processes, and systems.
Stay updated on industry trends and advocate for new technologies or practices.
Participate in Agile ceremonies to ensure alignment with project goals.
