Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A technology company focused on building innovative software solutions that help businesses streamline operations, improve efficiency, and leverage data and automation to drive better decision-making. Build backend services using Java 17+, Spring, Hibernate, and related technologies. Work on web application development, cloud infrastructure, databases, messaging systems, caching systems, reliability, observability, and production support for AI used by large enterprise customers. Own meaningful parts of the backend from idea to design to production to learning. Build systems that survive production and take ownership beyond just writing code. Work directly with the CTO to build the core systems behind the product. Work with PostgreSQL, PgVector, Redis, Kafka, RocketMQ, or similar systems. Build reliable, maintainable, secure, and easy to debug systems. Experiment, iterate, and translate fast moving AI capabilities into reliable product outcomes. Work with CI/CD processes and operational tools. Debug across application, database, infrastructure, and distributed system boundaries. Be available for production support when needed. Maintain strong code quality, modularity, scalability, performance, exception handling, and reusability. Own what you ship, including delivery, reliability, production behavior, and what happens after deployment.

Role overview

Backend Engineer responsible for building the core systems behind an AI operating system for supply chain operations. The role involves building backend services using Java 17+, Spring, Hibernate, and related technologies, while owning systems from idea to design to production to learning. The engineer will work across cloud infrastructure, databases, messaging, caching, reliability, observability, production support, and AI-enabled enterprise systems.
