About this role
About GoCharting GoCharting is a web-native charting and trading workflow platform with institutional-grade orderflow and DOM tools — footprint/cluster charts, volume/market profile, cumulative delta, imbalance charts, DOM trading. We are the only platform that delivers these capabilities fully on the web. Comparable to TradingView for general charting, but differentiated as the leader in the professional orderflow niche. PE-acquired and funded in 2025, profitable, 3M+ registered traders globally, with a mandate to scale 10x over 4 years.
The Role GoCharting's moat is its real-time market data and the breadth of brokers and exchanges we connect. That surface is also our single biggest infrastructure concern and the top driver of customer complaints — data accuracy and feed reliability. You will work directly alongside the CTO to widen and harden it: connect more brokers and exchanges, keep the feeds clean and reliable, and build the data pipelines and APIs that everything on the platform is built on. This is a hands-on backend and data-engineering role. You will live in broker APIs and exchange feeds, database and pipeline work, and the unglamorous discipline of cleaning and normalizing financial data so that the chart a trader sees is correct. We need someone who has worked with financial/market data before — who understands its structure, its types, and exactly where it goes wrong — and who can take ownership and run with it from day one. You report to the CTO inside Core Platform Engineering. In year one, success looks like more brokers and exchanges connected, measurably more reliable and accurate feeds, and data pipelines that scale with the business.
What you'll do
- Build and own broker & exchange integrations — authentication/OAuth, connection health, instrument/symbol mapping, and account sync across our broker roster (nine Indian brokers, US futures brokers, and more) so we can connect as many as possible, reliably
- Build and maintain the market-data pipelines — real-time tick ingestion, aggregation into bars/OHLC across timeframes, snapshots, and historical backfill, feeding live charts, DOM, and orderflow
- Own data quality and feed reliability — normalize and clean dirty/inconsistent vendor data, detect gaps and lag, alert on feed health, and drive down the data-accuracy complaints that hurt our reputation
- Model the data — symbols, exchanges, contract specs, trading hours, and the differences between markets (e.g. Indian vs US session handling), and the exchange/data-fee structures tied to feeds
- Build and maintain the APIs and connections — the services and contracts that deliver data to the terminal and to partners, with sensible rate-limits and entitlement checks
- Keep the lights on and the data honest — instrument the pipeline, find the root cause of freezes and feed gaps, and close them, in lockstep with the CTO and Support
What we're looking for Must-haves:
- 5–8 years backend / data engineering , strong in
Go (or strongly adjacent systems language with the ability to ramp on Go fast)
- You have worked with financial / market data before — ticks, OHLC, order book, corporate actions — and you understand its structure, types, and the ways it goes wrong (gaps, bad prints, timezones, splits, symbology)
- Strong data-pipeline / ETL and API-integration skills — you've built ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines and integrated third-party APIs that you owned end-to-end
- Database and SQL rigor , with real
data-cleaning and normalization discipline — you make messy external data trustworthy
- Can own it and run from day one — high autonomy, comfortable in a lean team working directly with the CTO
- In-person in our Chennai office Nice-to-haves:
- Prior experience
inside a broker, exchange, or market-data vendor backend
- Real-time / streaming infrastructure — WebSocket, message queues, time-series storage
- FIX or other market-data/connectivity protocols; DOM / orderflow / tick-data exposure
- Familiarity with
Indian (NSE/MCX/SEBI) and
US (CME) market structure
- Working English plus
Hindi or Tamil for local exchange/broker counterparts
- Top-tier Indian institution (IIT/NIT/IIM) — nice-to-have, not a gate
Logistics Location Chennai, India —
in-person (office-based)
Employment type Full-Time
Entity ProCharting Pvt Ltd (India)
Travel Light — occasional broker/exchange and team meetings
Start date ASAP
