Backend Engineer - Intern

Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and implementing backend features for web and Android applications.
• Build, test, and maintain backend services and APIs under the guidance of experienced developers.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while following coding best practices.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to understand requirements and deliver assigned tasks within timelines.
• Debug issues, fix bugs, and contribute to improving application performance.
• Work with databases to store, retrieve, and manage application data.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and technical discussions.
• Contribute to improving development, testing, and deployment processes.

Requirements:

• Have completed a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Basic knowledge of backend development using Node.js, TypeScript, or Java.
• Familiarity with Node.js frameworks such as Express.js or NestJS is a plus.
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and basic design patterns.
• Basic understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL and SQL queries.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and client-server architecture.
• Basic knowledge of software testing, debugging, and version control tools such as Git.
• Exposure to microservices architecture, caching solutions such as Redis, or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Amazon SQS is a plus.
• Basic exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is desirable.
• Willingness to learn new technologies, take initiative, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience through academic projects, personal projects, or internships is preferred.
