Backend Developer

Role Description The Backend Developer will design, implement, and maintain server-side applications and services that power Curator’s infrastructure for D2C brands. This full-time, on-site role in Mumbai involves building scalable APIs, integrating with third-party systems, optimizing database interactions, and ensuring high performance and reliability. The position includes collaborating closely with front-end engineers, product teams, and other developers to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. The Backend Developer will also participate in code reviews, improve existing architectures, contribute to documentation, and help maintain security and compliance standards across services. The role requires a hands-on approach to debugging, performance tuning, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Strong Back-End Web Development skills, including building and maintaining APIs and microservices.
• Proficiency in general Programming and Software Development practices, including testing, debugging, and version control.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Front-End Development teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Experience with one or more backend languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Java, Python, Go, or similar).
• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases, caching strategies, and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and ability to work in a collaborative, on-site team environment.
