About The Role We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team at AlgorithmX. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance backend systems that are critical to our financial platforms. Your work will involve building scalable transaction processing engines, order management systems, and secure wallet infrastructures capable of handling massive transaction volumes in real time. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in distributed systems and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges in the fintech space. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to mission-critical systems that empower next-generation financial services and trading platforms.

Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in backend development, with demonstrated expertise in building scalable, high-throughput systems. Proficiency in Node.js and/or Rust is essential, along with a solid understanding of distributed architectures, event-driven systems, and messaging platforms such as Kafka. Hands-on experience with databases like PostgreSQL, containerization tools like Docker, and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes is required. Candidates should have a strong grasp of performance optimization, reliability engineering, and system design principles. Knowledge of cryptography, secure transaction processing, and backend security best practices is highly desirable. A background in fintech, trading platforms, payment systems, or blockchain technologies will be considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize order matching engines capable of processing over 100,000 transactions per second.
• Create and maintain Order Management Systems (OMS) supporting complex trading workflows and operations.
• Build secure wallet and custody infrastructures, implementing multi-signature transaction handling for enhanced security.
• Develop real-time risk management, margin calculation, and liquidation systems for financial products.
• Architect and implement event-driven systems utilizing Kafka and other modern distributed messaging platforms.
• Develop institutional-grade APIs, WebSocket market data feeds, and trading services to support high-frequency trading and data dissemination.
• Ensure infrastructure availability with a target uptime of 99.99%, emphasizing operational resilience and fault tolerance.
• Strengthen observability, monitoring, security, and compliance measures across all mission-critical systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure financial solutions.
