About The Role This is a full-time, on-site Backend Developer position based in Bengaluru. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable server-side applications and APIs that power Torqis Horizons' digital platforms, including ExaltRide. The role involves implementing robust business logic, integrating with third-party services, managing databases, and ensuring optimal application performance, security, and reliability. The Backend Developer will collaborate closely with front-end developers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver new features, optimize existing functionalities, and troubleshoot technical issues. Additionally, the role includes participating in code reviews, contributing to architectural decisions, and enhancing development processes and tooling to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess over 3 years of professional experience in backend development, with strong expertise in at least two of the following programming languages: Node.js, Python, or Java. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, particularly services like Lambda and S3, is essential. Candidates should have a proven track record of building or integrating AI-powered applications and working within e-commerce ecosystems. A solid understanding of API security, database design, and performance optimization is required. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and familiarity with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend services to support platform functionalities.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and QA teams through code reviews and technical discussions to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Architect and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Integrate AI agents and automation workflows for recommendations, logistics, and customer engagement to enhance user experience.
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and perform migrations to support platform growth.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows to streamline development and release cycles.
• Integrate third-party services such as payment gateways, shipping providers, email, SMS, and OTP systems for seamless operations.
• Implement security best practices across applications and infrastructure to safeguard user data and ensure compliance.
• Monitor system performance, set up logging, alerts, and respond promptly to incidents to minimize downtime.
• Work closely with product, frontend, and data teams to deliver scalable and innovative business solutions.
