Backend Developer

As a Backend Engineer at Arcrix, you will work on developing scalable SaaS APIs, designing efficient database schemas, implementing core backend functionalities, and ensuring service reliability. You will collaborate with frontend engineers and product teams to deliver secure, robust, and production-ready features while gaining hands-on exposure to modern cloud-native infrastructure.

Role & responsibilities

1. API & Backend Development

• Build, develop, and maintain high-throughput backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js, Python, and/or Go.
• Write clean, modular, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable SaaS applications.

2. Database & Schema Design

• Design and maintain efficient database schemas for PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries.
• Understand data modeling, indexing, transactions, and database performance optimization.

3. Core Backend Features

• Implement authentication and authorization workflows.
• Develop secure multi-tenant data isolation mechanisms.
• Build asynchronous background jobs and task-processing workflows.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services.

4. Testing, Quality & Reliability

• Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established engineering best practices.
• Debug issues, troubleshoot production incidents, and contribute to improving system performance and reliability.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and other team members.
• Contribute to end-to-end feature development, from design and implementation to testing and deployment.
• Document technical decisions, APIs, and development workflows.

6. Infrastructure & DevOps Exposure

• Learn and assist with containerization and deployments using Docker and related tools.
• Gain exposure to logging pipelines, application monitoring, and system observability.
• Support efforts to improve deployment processes and service reliability.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience building backend projects, REST APIs, or SaaS applications.
• Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and secure API development.
• Understanding of database indexing, query optimization, and schema design.
• Exposure to asynchronous processing, queues, or background workers.
• Basic knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, or monitoring tools.
• Interest in cybersecurity, cryptography, and post-quantum security technologies.
• B.Tech, B.E., or M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Must be a 2025 or 2026 graduate.
• Strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of at least one backend programming language: Node.js/JavaScript, Python, or Go.
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, and client-server architecture.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development.
• Willingness to learn, take ownership of tasks, and work in a collaborative engineering environment.
