Backend Architect

Leads architectural design for core platform and product systems. Defines scalable, high-performance software solutions and partners with engineering and product leadership to ensure alignment between technical vision and business objectives across Tekion's platform.

Responsibilities:

• Owns architecture for major components and services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaborates with engineering leadership, product managers, and stakeholders to define long-term technical roadmaps.
• Establishes and promotes architectural standards, design patterns, and development best practices.
• Guides teams in decomposing monolithic systems, modernizing legacy infrastructure, and building cloud-native solutions.
• Conducts design reviews, leads technical deep dives, and supports system-level debugging and performance tuning.
• Mentors senior engineers and associate architects across domains and fosters technical growth and architectural thinking.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering and system design, with significant architectural responsibilities.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in designing distributed systems, cloud-native services, and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in software design patterns, scalability strategies, and performance optimization.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and observability practices.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, technical communication, and mentoring skills.
• Proven success in leading architectural initiatives across multiple teams or domains.
