About the Role We are looking for a

Software Development Engineer (SDE) to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems for a ride-hailing platform. In this role, you will work on core backend services and distributed systems that power key platform capabilities, including ride dispatch and matching, real-time driver tracking, ETA and pricing systems, payments, and the full trip lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Backend Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices for the ride-hailing platform.
• Build reliable APIs for trip management, driver-rider matching, pricing, incentives, payments, and other core platform modules.
• Ensure backend services are optimized for low latency, high throughput, reliability, and maintainability. Distributed Systems
• Work on high-scale distributed systems handling millions of daily requests and real-time location updates.
• Solve engineering challenges related to consistency, fault tolerance, scalability, and event-driven architecture.
• Contribute to systems that require real-time decision-making, including dispatch, ETA calculation, driver tracking, and trip lifecycle management. Performance and Scalability
• Optimize services for low latency, especially for critical platform functions such as dispatch, matching, pricing, and ETA.
• Support high availability targets of 99.9%+ for business-critical services. System Design and Architecture
• Participate in designing scalable system architecture for high-volume, real-time transaction environments.
• Contribute to data model design for large-scale trip, payment, pricing, and location-based systems.
• Take part in code reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering best-practice improvements.

Requirements: Must-have

• 2–5+ years of experience in backend engineering or software development.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Java, Go, Python, or C++.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining backend services or APIs in production environments.
• Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to work on performance-critical systems.

Strong Plus:

• Experience working with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached.
• Understanding of event-driven architecture, asynchronous processing, and high-throughput backend systems.
