Back End Developer

We are a small, fast-moving team building meaningful technology for real human learning outcomes, and AI is a core part of how we are shaping the next phase of the product. The Role We are looking for a Backend Developer who can own the systems that power our app and dashboards. If you enjoy building solid backend systems and shipping AI-powered features that real users feel, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Design and optimise MongoDB schemas, queries, and indexes for performance at scale.
• Partner with the AI developer to take AI workflows from prototype to production.

What We're Looking For

• 2 to 4 years of hands-on backend development experience with strong Node.js and TypeScript skills.
• Solid experience with MongoDB, including schema design and query optimisation.
• Good understanding of REST API design, authentication, and security best practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Redis, message queues, or caching strategies.
• Exposure to microservices or service-oriented architectures.
• Background in EdTech, SaaS, or consumer apps with high traffic.
• Familiarity with WebSockets or real-time systems.
