Role Description The Back End Developer will design, implement, and maintain server-side applications and APIs that power Whipkart’s AI-driven and cloud-native products. In this full-time remote role, the developer will work closely with product managers, front-end engineers, and AI specialists to build robust services, integrate third-party systems, and optimize performance and scalability. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, testable code, managing data models and database interactions, ensuring application security and reliability, and contributing to architecture decisions. The role also involves reviewing code, improving development workflows, and collaborating on documentation and deployment processes.
Qualifications
- Strong Back-End Web Development and Software Development skills, with experience building scalable APIs and services.
- Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and general Programming fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with Front-End Development concepts and ability to collaborate effectively with front-end teams.
- Experience with modern back-end languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, or similar) and relational/non-relational databases.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of security best practices, performance optimization, and monitoring/logging tools.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, communicate clearly, and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; prior work on AI or automation products is a plus.
