Axibyte - Backend Developer (Node.js) Location: Gurugram (Hybrid) Experience: 1–3 years · Type: Full-time Axibyte is the engineering brand of Explornovate Private Limited. We're a software agency based in Gurugram, building SaaS MVPs and custom web applications for founders and teams across India and global markets. About the role: You'll design and build the APIs, data models, and services that power our clients' products. Because we work MVP-first, you'll often be the person standing up an architecture from scratch schema, auth, integrations, deployment and then evolving it as the product finds its feet. You'll work across multiple client projects, so pragmatism and the ability to make sound decisions quickly matter as much as raw depth. What you'll do: * Design and build RESTful APIs using *Node.js* with *Express* or *NestJS*. * Model and work with relational and/or document databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), writing efficient queries and sensible schemas. * Implement authentication, authorisation, and security best practices (JWT/session auth, input validation, rate limiting). * Integrate third-party services payments, email/SMS, storage, auth providers, and client-specific APIs. * Write clean, testable, well-structured code and document your endpoints so frontend teammates aren't guessing. * Handle deployment and basic DevOps environment config, CI/CD pipelines, and getting things running on cloud infrastructure. * Think about edge cases, error handling, and data integrity before they become production incidents. What we're looking for : * 1–3 years of professional backend experience with Node.js (Express and/or NestJS). * Solid grasp of REST API design, HTTP, and async patterns in JavaScript/TypeScript. * Working knowledge of at least one database (PostgreSQL or MongoDB) and an ORM/ODM (Prisma, TypeORM, Mongoose). * Understanding of authentication, security fundamentals, and how to handle sensitive data. * Comfort with Git workflows and collaborating through PRs. * Good judgement on when to build for the now vs. build for scale — and the communication skills to flag that tradeoff. Bonus points : * Experience with TypeScript in a backend context. * Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Railway, Render) and containerisation (Docker). * Familiarity with caching (Redis), queues, or background job processing. * Some testing discipline (Jest, Supertest). * Experience integrating payment gateways (Razorpay, Stripe) or building webhooks. * Open-source contributions, side projects, or a GitHub we can browse.
