Azure Synapse Data Engineer

Role Overview
We are looking for a Data Engineer with hands-on Azure Synapse Analytics experience to design, build and optimize data pipelines and warehouse solutions for client analytics and BI projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Synapse Analytics (dedicated and serverless SQL pools, Synapse Pipelines, Spark pools)
• Develop data models and warehouse structures to support BI and reporting
• Integrate data from multiple sources (ERP, CRM, e-commerce, flat files, APIs) into the Azure data platform
• Ensure data quality, reliability and security across pipelines
• Collaborate with BI developers, analysts and client stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics
• Proficiency in T-SQL and Python/PySpark
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2 and Azure DevOps/Git
• Performance optimization expertise: query tuning, distribution and partitioning strategies, indexing (clustered columnstore), statistics management, workload management, and Spark job and pipeline optimization
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, SCD, incremental loads)
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a client-facing delivery environment

Good to Have

• Power BI exposure
• Microsoft certification (DP-203 or DP-600)
• Experience with Databricks or Microsoft Fabric
