About this role
Role Overview: We are looking for a Terraform-first Azure DevOps Engineer with a strong Platform Engineering mindset and deep expertise in Azure cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will build scalable, secure, and reusable cloud platforms that enable development teams to deliver software efficiently through automation and self-service capabilities. You will own Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, Kubernetes operations, cloud architecture improvements, observability, infrastructure security, and FinOps initiatives while collaborating with engineering teams to build reliable enterprise platforms. Experience with AWS or GCP is an added advantage as we continue our journey toward a multi-cloud architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform following modular, reusable, scalable, and version-controlled practices.
- Build reusable self-service infrastructure modules and deployment templates that enable development teams to provision environments with minimal manual intervention.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, supporting blue-green deployments, rollback strategies, approvals, and GitOps workflows.
- Deploy, manage, and optimize infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and support AWS/GCP environments where required.
- Administer Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Docker containers, Helm charts, container registries, ingress controllers, Application Gateway, and Service Mesh implementations.
- Recommend cloud architecture improvements to enhance scalability, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Review application architecture from scalability, availability, reliability, and disaster recovery perspectives and proactively identify infrastructure bottlenecks before they impact production.
- Participate in technical design discussions and collaborate with engineering teams to define cloud-native infrastructure solutions.
- Manage Azure networking components including VNets, NSGs, Private Endpoints, Load Balancers, and Application Gateway.
- Secure cloud environments using Azure Key Vault, Azure RBAC, Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and security best practices.
- Implement container image vulnerability scanning, secret rotation, and CIS Benchmark recommendations across infrastructure.
- Own PostgreSQL, Redis, and other data infrastructure including provisioning, backup, restore, high availability, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting using ELK Stack, Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, and Application Insights.
- Drive infrastructure automation, disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and platform reliability initiatives.
- Lead cloud cost optimization initiatives by leveraging Azure Cost Management, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, auto-scaling, right-sizing, and Spot VMs/Spot Nodes where appropriate.
- Continuously improve platform reliability, developer productivity, operational excellence, and infrastructure governance.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, architects, and QA teams in an Agile environment to achieve sprint and release goals.
Required Skills:
- 5 years of DevOps experience with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Deep expertise in Terraform including modules, workspaces, remote state management, reusable infrastructure patterns, and Terraform Cloud or CI/CD integration.
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps, YAML pipelines, Git repositories, and GitOps workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Docker, Helm, Kubernetes networking, sidecar deployments, and container lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking including VNets, NSGs, Private Endpoints, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, DNS, and hybrid networking.
- Experience implementing Platform Engineering principles with reusable infrastructure and developer self-service capabilities.
- Good understanding of cloud architecture, high availability, scalability, disaster recovery, and infrastructure design best practices.
- Experience administering PostgreSQL and Redis in production environments.
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash scripting, Azure CLI, REST APIs, and ARM/Bicep templates.
- Hands-on experience with ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and modern observability practices.
- Experience implementing Azure security services including Azure Key Vault, Azure RBAC, Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, container security, secret management, and compliance standards such as CIS Benchmarks.
- Strong understanding of FinOps principles including Azure Cost Management, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, auto-scaling, right-sizing, infrastructure benchmarking, and cloud cost optimization.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and work independently in a fast-paced product engineering environment.
- Experience with AWS or GCP (EKS, GKE, IAM, VPC, Cloud Networking, etc.) is an added advantage as iVoyant continues its transition toward a multi-cloud architecture.
Tech Stack: Azure, Terraform, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), PostgreSQL, Redis, NoSQL, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Key Vault, Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
