Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Architecture and Optimisation: Architect, optimise, and scale automated build and deployment workflows across complex hybrid-cloud and on-premises environments.
• Security, Compliance and Cost Governance: Establish and enforce infrastructure security protocols, regulatory compliance standards, and cost-optimisation benchmarks through advanced automation and industry best practices.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with Software Engineering, Quality Assurance, and IT Operations leadership to eliminate delivery bottlenecks, accelerate release velocity, and elevate system reliability.
• Technology Modernisation: Spearhead the evaluation, prototyping, and seamless integration of emerging cloud-native technologies, microservices frameworks, and modern DevOps tools.
• Knowledge Management and Mentorship: Standardise engineering documentation, champion comprehensive post-incident reviews (RCAs) to drive continuous improvement, and mentor junior team members.

Key Challenges:

• Multi-Environment Uptime and Scale: Ensuring near-zero downtime and flawless deployment predictability across high-traffic, complex multi-environment distributed architectures.
• Risk-Mitigated Transformations: Managing large-scale infrastructure transformations, legacy migrations, and system upgrades with zero business disruption.
• Decision Making Authority: Decisions Made Alone: Overarching design and branching strategies of enterprise CI/CD workflows, infrastructure code styling/refactoring, monitoring/alerting thresholds, and Tier-3 tactical incident mitigation patterns.
• Manager to be Consulted: Global infrastructure roadmap milestones, enterprise tooling procurement, long-term cloud budget forecasting, and corporate security/compliance alignment.
• Stakeholder Interactivity: Internal Stakeholders: Engineering Directors and Development Teams, QA Automation Leads, IT Infrastructure and Operations Heads, Enterprise Cyber Security.
• External Stakeholders: Premium Cloud Service Providers (AWS/Azure/GCP Architects), DevOps Tooling Ecosystem Vendors, Managed Service Providers (MSPs).

Requirements:

• Qualifications and Experience: Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
• Certifications: Professional or Expert-level certifications (e. g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, Certified Kubernetes Administrator/Security Specialist, HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate).
• Experience Required: 7+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in DevOps, Systems Automation, or Cloud Engineering.

Technical Knowledge and Core Skills:

• Advanced CI/CD Automation: Deep expertise in engineering scalable, secure, and dynamic continuous integration and delivery pipelines (e. g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions).
• Containerization and Service Mesh: Extensive experience orchestrating large-scale production Kubernetes clusters, service meshes, and multi-tenant Docker microservices.
• Advanced Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Deep technical mastery of writing modular, reusable, and secure configurations using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Observability and APM Mastery: Practical familiarity with major cloud platforms and enterprise monitoring, logging, and APM suites (e. g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog) to establish proactive self-healing alerts.
• Systems and Workflow Engineering: Advanced programming/scripting skills (e. g., Python, Bash, Go) for system-level tool development, advanced Git branching workflows, and configuration management.
• Core Competencies: Strategic Problem Solving: Advanced root-cause analysis skills with the ability to diagnose complex, distributed system anomalies under pressure.
• Leadership and Influence: Proven capacity to drive technological change across cross-functional engineering pods, act as an escalation point, and champion technical vision.
