Azure cloud migration architect

Assess existing SQL Server environments and identify migration opportunities. Conduct inventory, discovery, and dependency analysis for databases, applications, SQL Agent jobs, and linked servers. Perform SQL Server upgrade and Azure migration readiness assessments. Design and implement database migration strategies to Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance. Use Data Migration Assistant (DMA) and Azure Database Migration Service (DMS) to plan and execute migrations. Develop and maintain database architecture, data models, and normalization standards. Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, and scalability. Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues and bottlenecks. Design and implement backup, recovery, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions. Ensure database security through access controls, auditing, encryption, and compliance best practices. Manage and optimize Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and storage services. Create and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and T-SQL. Manage data storage solutions using Azure Blob Storage and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2. Implement data governance and data cataloging using Microsoft Purview. Support analytics and reporting integration with Microsoft Fabric. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and business teams during migration projects. Prepare architecture diagrams, migration plans, operational procedures, and technical documentation. Provide technical guidance and best practices for database modernization initiatives. Ensure successful project delivery with minimal downtime and business impact. Stay updated on Microsoft SQL Server, Azure data services, and cloud migration technologies.

Lead the assessment, design, planning, and execution of enterprise database modernization and cloud migration initiatives. Architect and implement scalable, secure, and highly available data platforms using Microsoft SQL Server and Azure data services. Drive SQL Server upgrades, Azure SQL migrations, and database modernization programs while minimizing business risk and downtime. Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, security teams, and business stakeholders to align data architecture with organizational objectives. Establish database architecture standards, migration best practices, governance frameworks, and operational procedures. Ensure data platforms meet performance, security, compliance, availability, and disaster recovery requirements.
