AWS Migration Engineer

Key Skills

• Expected to have strong Understanding of AWS Solutions and design, AWS Networking (

firewalls)

• Extensive experience in troubleshooting AWS issues.
• Good Communication Skills and ability to lead the Migrations.

Responsibilities

Migration Planning & Readiness

• Prepare and validate migration cutover plans before the migration window.

Command & Control During Cutover

• Act as the single command-and-control point throughout the migration window.
• Coordinate activities across infrastructure, application, AWS, and third-party

vendor teams.

• Monitor adherence to the migration runbook.

Dependency & Risk Management

• Track technical and business dependencies during cutover.
• Ensure cross-team handoffs occur as planned.

Incident & Escalation Management

• Own coordination of incident response during migration.
• Maintain clear visibility of open issues until resolution

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Provide migration progress updates to project leadership.
• Track migration milestones and completion status.

Continuous Improvement

• Capture lessons learned after the migration window.
• Update migration playbooks, runbooks, and standard operating procedures like

migration summary.

Governance

• Verify completion of mandatory checkpoints.
• Confirm documentation and sign-offs are completed before migration closure.
