Role Summary

The AWS L3 Engineer will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for designing managing and optimizing enterprisescale AWS environments The role involves handling highseverity P1P2 incident escalations performing deep infrastructure troubleshooting mentoring L1L2 engineers and ensuring high availability and performance across AWS services such as EC2 S3 VPC RDS Lambda CloudWatch and IAM The engineer will also lead clientfacing technical discussions drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain operational excellence through strong documentation and communication Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure components including EC2 instances VPCs S3 buckets RDS databases and Lambda functions Lead the resolution of P1P2 incidents with effective root cause analysis and clear communication to clients and internal stakeholders Troubleshoot critical escalations from L2 engineers related to connectivity performance and resource optimization issues Implement automation using AWS services CloudFormation Lambda or Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management Monitor cloud resource utilization performance and logs using CloudWatch CloudTrail and other monitoring tools Ensure adherence to security best practices IAM policies backup strategies and compliance requirements Plan and perform cost optimization capacity planning and highavailability configurations Collaborate with development network and security teams for integrated environment support Prepare and maintain technical documentation including standard operating procedures runbooks and architecture diagrams Mentor L1 and L2 engineers through knowledgesharing sessions technical coaching and process improvements Lead change management activities and participate in infrastructure scaling patching and upgrade initiatives Participate in shift rotations ensuring coverage for 24x7 operations across environments Strong handson experience in managing AWS services such as EC2 S3 RDS VPC Lambda CloudFront CloudFormation and IAM Solid understanding of networking components subnets route tables NAT gateways VPNs and security groups within AWS Experience with automation and infrastructureascode tools like Terraform CloudFormation or Ansible Skilled in managing CICD integrations using CodePipeline Jenkins or GitHub Actions Expertise in Linux and Windows administration in AWS environments Familiarity with database administration RDS Aurora DynamoDB and cloud storage solutions Strong troubleshooting skills for cloud networking performance tuning and incident recovery Experience in handling largescale production environments and optimizing for cost performance and reliability Thorough understanding of ITILbased incident problem and change management frameworks Proven experience driving highseverity bridges and communicating effectively with clients during service outages Key Competencies Excellent documentation skills for technical procedures root cause analysis reports and change records Strong communication and clientfacing ability to engage confidently during technical discussions and incident management calls Leadership and mentoring skills to guide L1 and L2 engineers in technical and procedural areas Ability to lead and drive P1P2 calls with composure ensuring timely updates and resolution coordination Analytical and proactive mindset to identify trends prevent incidents and implement longterm improvements

Certifications Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect AssociateProfessional or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator strongly preferred Certifications in automation or DevOps tools Terraform Ansible or Jenkins are desirable ITIL Foundation certification is an advantage
