AWS Cloud / DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud / DevOps Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in AWS infrastructure, AWS CDK, GitHub Actions, serverless services, containers, APIs, IAM, databases, and CI/CD deployments.

The candidate should be capable of designing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining production-grade AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK and Infrastructure as Code.

- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

- Automate application and infrastructure deployments across development, staging, and production environments.

- Work extensively with:

- AWS Lambda

- Amazon API Gateway

- Amazon ECS

- Amazon SQS

- Amazon SNS

- Amazon DynamoDB

- AWS IAM

- Amazon CloudWatch

- Amazon VPC

- Amazon S3

- Design and implement REST APIs using API Gateway and Lambda.

- Build event-driven architectures using SQS, SNS, and Lambda.

- Deploy and manage containerized applications using ECS.

- Design secure IAM roles, policies, permissions, and service-to-service access.

- Implement infrastructure completely through CDK, minimizing manual AWS console configuration.

- Develop reusable CDK constructs and maintain multiple AWS environments/accounts.

- Configure monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting using AWS services.

- Manage application configuration, secrets, networking, security, and deployment dependencies.

- Troubleshoot production infrastructure and deployment issues.

- Follow AWS best practices for security, scalability, availability, reliability, and cost optimization.

- Collaborate with developers to integrate application deployments with AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.

Infrastructure as Code

- Strong experience with AWS CDK

- Ability to create and manage complete AWS infrastructure using code

- Experience with reusable CDK constructs

- Understanding of CloudFormation and infrastructure lifecycle management

CI/CD

- Strong experience with GitHub Actions

- Automated build, test, and deployment pipelines

- Environment-specific deployments

- AWS authentication and secure deployment workflows

- Deployment rollback and release strategies

Development / Scripting

- Experience with at least one language such as TypeScript, Python, or Java

- Understanding of REST APIs and JSON

- Shell scripting and automation experience

Security

- Strong understanding of AWS IAM

- IAM roles, policies, trust relationships, and least-privilege access

- Secure CI/CD authentication and AWS deployments

- Understanding of AWS networking and security best practices

Preferred Qualifications

- 7+ years of experience working with AWS/cloud infrastructure.

- Strong production experience with AWS serverless and container-based architectures.

- Experience designing end-to-end AWS solutions.

- Experience managing multiple environments such as Dev, QA, UAT, and Production.

- Experience with AWS account/region management.

- Knowledge of observability, logging, monitoring, and incident troubleshooting.

- AWS certifications are a plus.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should be able to take an application from source code infrastructure CI/CD pipeline AWS deployment monitoring production support and independently manage the complete lifecycle.

Strong practical experience with AWS CDK + GitHub Actions + Lambda + API Gateway + ECS + SQS/SNS + DynamoDB + IAM is essential.
