Job Overview LPL Financial is seeking an experienced AVP, Data Product Owner to lead Product Pricing, Security Master, Product Master, Market Data, and Enterprise Reference Data capabilities supporting advisor platforms, trading, operations, compliance, risk management, regulatory reporting, and enterprise analytics. This role serves as the designated business owner for critical enterprise data products and is accountable for product strategy, governance, quality, Source of Record (SOR) alignment, stewardship, lifecycle management, and adoption. The AVP partners across business, operations, technology, architecture, engineering, and data governance teams to deliver trusted, scalable, and reusable data products aligned to business objectives. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in wealth management data domains, enterprise data governance, reference data management, and product ownership, with a strong focus on execution, operational excellence, and measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities Data Product Ownership & Strategy
- Serve as the designated business owner for Product Pricing, Security Master, Product Master, Market Data, and Enterprise Reference Data domains.
- Define and execute product vision, roadmap, operating model, and governance framework for assigned data products.
- Establish enterprise ownership, stewardship, and accountability for critical data assets.
- Define business outcomes, product KPIs, adoption of metrics, and value realization measures. Product Pricing, Security Master & Reference Data Management
- Govern security onboarding, lifecycle management, classification, pricing, and reference data processes.
- Define and maintain business definitions, metadata, taxonomies, hierarchies, critical data elements, and enterprise data standards.
- Ensure consistency, integrity, and fitness-for-purpose security and pricing data across platforms and downstream consumers.
- Support enterprise initiatives involving new products, acquisitions, platform modernization, and regulatory change. Data Governance, Quality & Stewardship
- Define and maintain Source of Record (SOR) strategies, authoritative data source models, and stewardship processes.
- Identify and manage Critical Data Elements (CDEs), data quality rules, thresholds, and monitor metrics.
- Improve data quality, lineage, metadata, transparency, and business trust through sustainable governance practices.
- Partner with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Information Security, and Enterprise Data Governance teams to ensure regulatory and policy adherence.
- Drive remediation of systemic data quality issues and embed controls within business and technology workflows. Data Product Lifecycle & Delivery
- Own and govern the end-to-end data product lifecycle: Define → Build → Publish → Operate → Enhance.
- Partner with Product Managers, Engineering, Architecture, and Delivery teams to translate business requirements into executable roadmaps and technical solutions.
- Ensure governance requirements, controls, and business outcomes are incorporated into solution design and delivery.
- Monitor implementation outcomes, operational performance, adoption, and business value realization. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as the primary point of accountability for assigned data domains across business and technology organizations.
- Build alignment among business leaders, governance councils, delivery teams, and key stakeholders.
- Establish business requirements and governance standards for external market and reference data providers.
- Partner with vendor management, procurement, and technology teams to optimize data sourcing strategies and vendor performance. AI & Automation Enablement
- Leverage AI tools and platforms to identify automation opportunities across data products and operational workflows.
- Design, implement, and optimize AI-enabled agents and capabilities that improve data quality, governance, stewardship, and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate emerging AI use cases and integrate scalable, governed AI solutions into data product operating models.

Requirements Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 8–12+ years of experience in Wealth Management, Brokerage, Asset Management, Capital Markets, Custody, or Financial Services.
- 5+ years of experience in Data Product Ownership, Product Management, Data Governance, Master Data Management, or Enterprise Data Management.
- Deep expertise in Product Pricing, Security Master, Product Master, Market Data, and Reference Data domains.
- Strong understanding of Source of Record (SOR), Critical Data Elements (CDEs), data quality, metadata, lineage, stewardship, and governance practices.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving business, operations, compliance, governance, architecture, and technology teams.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI and automation capabilities within data management and product environments.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and influencing skills.
Core Competencies
- Advanced degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Data Management, or related discipline.
- Experience with Master Data Management (MDM), Reference Data Management, data catalogs, metadata repositories, and lineage platforms.
- Industry certifications related to Data Management, Product Management, Governance, or Agile delivery.
Preferences
- Experience working with Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, ICE, Refinitiv, DTCC, or similar market and reference data providers. What Success Looks Like
