Avalara Tax Technology Consultant

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Avalara Tax Technology consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for integrating ERP systems with the e-Invoicing and e-reporting platforms to ensure compliance with global e-invoicing regulations. They will also be responsible for designing, configuring the Compliance platform as per client needs and in line with e-Invoicing mandates of authorities. Experience in Avalara ELR ( E-invoicing and Live reporting) is strongly recommended.

Roles & responsibilities

•Design, configure, and implement Avalara ELR (E-Invoicing & Live Reporting) solutions in line with country-specific and global e-invoicing mandates.

•Integrate ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or other finance systems) with Avalara e-invoicing and compliance platforms.

•Analyze client business and tax requirements and translate them into scalable Avalara compliance solutions.

•Ensure compliance with local tax authority requirements, including real-time clearance, post-audit reporting, continuous transaction controls (CTC), and statutory reporting.

•Support end-to-end project delivery, including requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as tax, finance, IT, and external stakeholders to ensure successful implementations.

•Monitor and assess regulatory changes related to global e-invoicing and Live reporting and recommend system updates accordingly.

•Conduct system testing, troubleshoot integration issues, and provide ongoing enhancements and optimization.

•Prepare documentation, implementation guidelines, and client-facing training materials.

Educational qualifications

•CA/ ICWA/ B Tech / MCA / MBA

•

Work experience

•3-12 years of Avalara Tax technology experience

Preferred technical & functional skills

•Proven experience working as a Tax Technology or Avalara Consultant, with hands-on expertise in Avalara ELR (E-Invoicing & Live Reporting).

•Strong understanding of global e-invoicing regulations, including clearance and reporting models across regions (LATAM, Europe, Asia, etc.).

•Experience integrating Avalara solutions with ERP systems and related middleware.

•Solid knowledge of indirect tax processes (VAT, GST, sales tax) and statutory compliance requirements.

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

•Experience in configuration, testing, and deployment of compliance platforms.

•Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work directly with clients and internal stakeholders.
