Automotive Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description:
Smartgeek Solutions is hiring experienced Automotive Mechanical Design Engineers for full-time opportunities with automotive engineering projects in Japan.
The selected candidates will work on automotive parts design and development projects, including sheet metal body parts, interior and exterior resin/plastic parts, and related design support activities.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive sheet metal body parts and components.
- Design automotive interior and exterior resin/plastic parts.
- Create 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings using NX / CATIA V5.
- Perform design modifications and engineering changes based on project requirements.
- Support design development, validation and design feasibility studies.
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to achieve design requirements.
- Identify and resolve design-related issues.
- Ensure designs comply with automotive industry standards and customer requirements.
- Provide technical support during prototype and product development activities.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Engineering graduate in Mechanical, Automobile or related engineering discipline.
- More than 4 years of experience in automotive parts design.
- Hands-on experience with NX and/or CATIA V5.
- Experience in automotive sheet metal, body, interior or exterior parts design.
- Business-level Japanese conversational ability.
- JLPT N3 or higher is preferred; certification is not mandatory if the candidate has equivalent Japanese communication ability.
- Minimum 3 years of continuous employment experience with the same company.
- Strong interest in automobiles and automotive technology.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: 20 ~ 50 LPA equivalent, depending on experience and skills.
