About The Role We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented
Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in
Playwright, Python, and AWS Synapse to join our growing Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing scalable automation frameworks, validating data pipelines and cloud-based solutions, and ensuring high-quality software releases through robust automation practices. You will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, data engineers, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing applications across web and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and Python.
- Create and execute automation scripts for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Perform UI, API, and database testing to ensure complete test coverage.
- Develop reusable test utilities, Page Object Model (POM) components, and automation libraries.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality assurance.
- Analyse test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Perform SQL-based validations and data reconciliation activities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, requirement reviews, and sprint planning activities.
- Contribute to automation strategy, process improvements, and quality best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in Software Testing and Test Automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation.
- Proficiency in Python and automation frameworks such as Pytest.
- Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
- Strong understanding of Web UI, API, and End-to-End Testing.
- Experience with AWS Synapse and cloud-based data validation/testing.
- Strong SQL skills for database and data warehouse validation.
- Experience with REST API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena, or Redshift.
- Exposure to BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or Behave.
- Knowledge of performance testing concepts.
- Experience with Docker and containerized test execution.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools and automation accelerators.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in AWS, Python, or Test Automation are an added advantage.
