Automation Test Engineer

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver (Java) for web application testing
• Build and enhance API automation frameworks using REST Assured for REST/SOAP services
• Validate API request/response payloads, status codes, headers, and schemas
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Azure DevOps)
• Mentor junior engineers and drive automation best practices
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to define test strategy
• Perform root cause analysis on automation failures and flaky tests
• Own test planning, estimation, and reporting for automation deliverables
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 6 to 9 years in Software Testing, with strong hands-on Automation experience
• Proficient in Selenium WebDriver with Java (or Python)
• Strong hands-on experience with REST Assured for API automation
• Good understanding of TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle, Git
• Solid grasp of REST/SOAP, JSON/XML, and authentication (OAuth, JWT)
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
• Knowledge of Cucumber (BDD), Postman/SoapUI, and SQL is a plus
• Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills
