About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Playwright Automation Engineer with experience in Industrial HMI (Human Machine Interface) applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in UI automation using Playwright and hands-on experience testing industrial software, SCADA, HMI, or automation products. The role involves developing robust automation frameworks, validating HMI workflows, and ensuring high-quality software releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain UI automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).
- Automate regression, functional, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end test scenarios.
- Validate Industrial HMI applications for functionality, usability, and performance.
- Work closely with developers, product owners, and system engineers to understand application functionality.
- Design reusable automation libraries and utilities.
- Execute automated test suites and analyze failures.
- Report and track defects using defect management tools.
- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in requirement reviews and provide test estimations.
- Prepare automation reports and quality metrics.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes and automation coverage.
Required Skills
- 39 years of software testing experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright Automation.
- Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Experience with API testing (REST APIs).
- Experience with Git and version control.
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Experience with test reporting tools.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Industrial Domain Experience
- Experience testing Industrial HMI applications.
- Knowledge of Industrial Automation concepts.
- Understanding of SCADA/HMI architecture.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as:
- OPC UA
- Modbus
- Ethernet/IP
- Profinet
- Experience validating alarms, trends, dashboards, data visualization, and operator workflows.
- Understanding of PLC-HMI interactions is preferred.
Good to Have
- Experience with Electron desktop applications.
- Performance testing exposure.
- Docker knowledge.
- SQL database testing.
- Python scripting.
- Experience in Manufacturing, Energy, Automotive, or Process Automation domains.
Education
- BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical, or related disciplines.
