JOB SUMMARY
(Brief about the existence of the position)
We are looking for an Automation Engineer to work on automation systems for wire drawing and cable-making machines. The role involves PLC programming, machine control, drives, motion systems, commissioning, and troubleshooting. The role involves working with PLC, HMI/SCADA, VFDs, servo drives, and motion-control systems to ensure smooth and reliable machine operation. The engineer will also support machine testing, commissioning, fault diagnosis, and technical troubleshooting.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
(Primary duties)
- Develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC programs for wire and cable machinery.
- Work with Siemens PLC, TIA portal, HMI/SCADA and PROFINET.
- Work with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs where required.
- Configure and troubleshoot servo motors, drives, VFDs and motion-control systems.
- Integrate and troubleshoot sensors, actuators and machine-control systems.
- Perform machine testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Identify and resolve electrical and automation issues during machine commissioning.
- Coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams for machine integration.
- Provide technical support for installation and commissioning at customer sites when required.
