    About this role

    About The Role

The QA team is part of Charles River Development (CRD), a State Street company, delivering high‑quality, scalable solutions across CRD and CRPM platforms. The team plays a critical role in ensuring product stability, performance, and automation scalability through hands‑on testing and continuous quality improvements.

    Who We Are Looking For

An experienced Automation Engineer (Officer level) who will function as a hands‑on individual contributor, responsible for both manual and automation testing. This is an execution‑focused role requiring strong ownership of test design, automation development, and end‑to‑end quality validation across releases.

    • Collaborate with Scrum Master, Product Owner, Architects, BAs, and Developers to ensure end‑to‑end quality ownership within Agile Scrum teams.
    • Design, develop, and scale automated test frameworks and regression suites to validate business requirements across products and services.
    • Demonstrate strong programming expertise in Java / C# / JavaScript / Python to build maintainable automation solutions.
    • Build and integrate CI/CD pipelines to execute automated functional, integration, regression, and performance tests.
    • Perform hands‑on front‑end automation testing using Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent industry‑standard tools.
    • Execute and maintain manual and automated test suites covering functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
    • Interpret automation results, log defects, and proactively collaborate with developers to drive timely issue resolution.
    • Test REST APIs, microservices, Azure Functions, and serverless workflows, performing initial cloud‑environment troubleshooting.
    • Write SQL queries independently to validate data correctness and support root‑cause analysis.
    • Champion QA process improvements, researching and recommending modern automation strategies, including AI‑assisted testing.
    • Mentor junior QA engineers on test design, automation best practices, and Agile quality standards.

    What We Value

Execution focus, ownership, strong communication, and collaboration within Agile delivery teams.

    Required Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience in software QA with strong emphasis on test automation
    • Proven experience as a hands‑on individual contributor (not a people‑management role)
    • Strong expertise in UI and API automation (e.g., Selenium, Rest Assured, or equivalent)
    • Strong understanding of test frameworks (e.g., TestNG, Cucumber, BDD‑style frameworks)
    • Proficiency in Java
    • Strong manual testing fundamentals and test design methodologies
    • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution
    • Ability to write SQL queries for validation and perform strong defect analysis

    Nice to Have

    • Exposure to performance testing concepts and tools
    • Experience testing complex enterprise platforms (financial systems preferred)
    • Experience with Jira and test management practices
