Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AWS PostgreSQL Developer to design, develop, optimize, and support PostgreSQL database solutions in a cloud-native AWS environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, database development, and AWS managed database services.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases on AWS platforms.

Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database objects.

Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.

Manage and support AWS RDS PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL environments.

Implement backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.

Monitor database health, availability, and security.

Collaborate with application development teams to design efficient database solutions.

Troubleshoot production issues and implement permanent resolutions.

Automate routine database administration activities using scripting tools.

Ensure compliance with security, governance, and operational standards.

Required Skills

4+ years of experience in PostgreSQL Database Development and Administration.

Strong hands-on experience with:

PostgreSQL

AWS RDS PostgreSQL

AWS Aurora PostgreSQL

SQL Performance Tuning

Query Optimization

Database Backup & Recovery

Replication and High Availability

Experience with AWS services such as:

EC2

CloudWatch

IAM

Lambda

S3

Knowledge of database monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

Experience with Linux/Unix environments.

Strong scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Bash.
