• Review daily ledger entries for accurate account coding and rectify entry errors.
• Prepare comprehensive CIF sheets to calculate Assessable Value, BCD, SWS, and IGST based on Bills of Entry, and audit matching book entries in SAP.
• Maintain the Fixed Assets Register, track additions/deletions, compute monthly depreciation under Companies Act and Income Tax Act, and perform physical verification.
• Build draft schedules for depreciations, accruals, and prepaid expenses to assist the manager in the month-end closing process.
• Execute monthly, line-by-line reconciliations for major statutory liabilities including EPF, ESIC, Professional Tax (PT), GST, and TDS. Cross-verify HR/vendor data against bank payment challans and SAP General Ledgers (GL).
• Perform periodic clearing of tax accounts in SAP. Match input tax credits (ITC) against GST portal GSTR-2B logs and TDS entries against Form 26AS/AIS statements to eliminate variances.
• Prepare initial calculation sheets for GST, TDS deductions, and Advance Tax computations.
• Draft audit workings, sample documentation, and schedules to smoothly close Statutory, Tax, Internal and GST audits.
• Review and audit monthly HR payroll outputs (gross salary workings, attendance registers, overtime, and deductions) to ensure alignment with company policies and employment contracts before finance processing.
• Reconcile monthly HR payroll sheets employee-wise to verify net salary and bonus payable, validate and maintain unpaid or hold lists, cross-check bank account details, and ensure error-free salary disbursement files.
• Coordinate with the Finance and HR teams to execute the payroll process within SAP. Ensure proper routing of employee master updates, exits, and final settlements.
• Perform monthly, line-by-line reconciliations of all salary components (Basic, HRA, Allowances, PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, and Income Tax/TDS) between HR payroll sheets, bank payout statements, and SAP General Ledgers (GL).
• Analyse monthly payroll variance reports to identify and explain fluctuations in employee costs. Prepare monthly provisions and accrual journal entries for bonuses, gratuities, and leave encashments.
• Maintain a central tracker for all tax and regulatory notices and orders (GST, Income Tax, TDS, Customs), coordinate documentation, and draft timely compliance responses.
• Verify monthly TDS deductions against vendor invoices, cross-check employee payroll tax sheets and process timely tax deposits.
• Compute monthly payroll TDS deductions by evaluating employee investment declarations, validating Form 12BB submissions, updating proof verifications, and preparing data for quarterly Form 24Q filings.
• Prepare detailed Income Tax Return (ITR) and Tax Audit schedules (Form 3CD workings), compile tax-allowable depreciation data, and resolve auditor queries to ensure timely compliance.
