Associate Software Engineer

Why This Job’s a Big Deal As an Associate Software Engineer in the Product Operating Model (POM), your focus is on building high-quality, reliable, and scalable software that delivers business value. You are accountable for owning development, optimization, and automation activities; writing clean and maintainable code; practicing test-driven development; and collaborating closely with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and fellow Developers. You contribute to solution design, ensure adherence to engineering best practices, and take ownership of features from development through testing and delivery.

In This Role, You Will Get To

• Participate in mission-critical projects with direct impact on the evolution of Priceline's business.
• Be part of a cross-functional agile team that continuously experiments, iterates, and delivers on new product objectives.
• Showcase your development skills in Core Java or similar programming languages.
• Apply your programming skills towards building low-latency and high-throughput transactional services with continuous integration and automation testing.
• Implement SQL composition skills that collect and query data for investigation and analysis in real time from our applications.
• Utilize your knowledge to understand our codebase, systems, and business requirements to effectively make changes to our applications.
• Effectively collaborate and engage in team efforts, speak up for what you think are the best solutions, and be able to converse respectfully and compromise when necessary.

Who Are You

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in software engineering and development.
• Strong coding experience with Java.
• Thorough SQL composition skills for composing queries and analysis.
• Comfort and experience with Spring boot and REST APIs.
• Experience in Microservices is a MUST

Flexible work at Priceline Priceline is following a hybrid working model, which includes two days onsite as determined by you and your manager (ideally selecting among Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). On the remaining days, you can choose to be remote or in the office.
